Drop in the batteries. 3× AA, included in your box. The compartment is under the skirt.
Flip the switch at the base to ON.
Clap once. Lights, cackle, and it starts to sweep. That's it — you're haunted.

The porch corner by the door is the classic — trick-or-treaters trigger it themselves as they walk up (keep it under cover, it's not waterproof).
Hallways and entryways give it a runway — smooth floors, a little open space, dim lighting for maximum green glow.
The window silhouette: place it behind a thin curtain with a light behind — the moving shadow gets reactions from the street.
Best floors: hardwood, tile, laminate, low-pile rugs. Skip thick shag and stairs.

Let guests discover it — don't announce it. The broom does its own marketing.
Stage a decoy: floating witch hats or a glowing cauldron pull eyes upward — nobody notices the broom until it starts moving behind them.
Film the reactions. Seriously — porch-camera clips of the first scare are the best part.

Search "haunted Halloween ambience" on Spotify or YouTube and let it play low from a porch speaker — the broom's cackle cuts through it perfectly.

Not reacting to claps? It listens for sharp sounds — clap closer, or check the switch is fully ON.
Moving oddly? Clear more floor space and check the surface is flat.
Battery life: a fresh set of AAs lasts through many nights of scares — keep a spare set for October 31st.
